Visit to the V&A Museum Fashion Collection Archive

On this delightful occasion Artsocial had an opportunity to invite its Friends for a private view of the masterpieces of the 20th and 21st century fashion and access the 'hidden treasure' of the fashion world - the V&A Museum Fashion Archive located at The Clothworkers' Centre for the Study and Conservation of Textiles and Fashion in the beautiful Blythe House. The tour was guided by Suzanne Smith (Clothworkers Centre Manager) and Sonnet Stanfill (V&A Curator, Fashion & Textiles).

The Clothworkers' Centre is one of the world's leaders in its field with world-class facilities for the care, study and enjoyment of the V&A’s outstanding textile collection. The centre at Blythe House brings the V&A’s extensive textiles and fashion collection together under one roof and houses over 104,000 fashion items from 1400s tapestry to modern day couture.
