Join us for a breakfast at Mortimer House Kitchen followed by a meeting with an extraordinary woman and artist Mari Katayama (b. 1987, Gunma, Japan). Katayama was born with various developmental challenges, had both legs amputated at age nine and has since lived with prosthetics. Using her body as a living sculpture, Katayama photographs herself among intricately embroidered objects, hand-sewn mannequins and her prosthetic legs.
We will meet the artist and view her exhibition at White Rainbow Gallery in the company of Simon Baker, Director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie and our Ambassador.
