ArtSocial Club members spent this inspiring afternoon behind the scenes of one of the UK's major art museums followed by the afternoon tea at the Portrait Restaurant.
The tour featured a visit to the conservation studio, where we learnt about the conservation specialists' work preserving the vast museum's collection, dating back to the VIII century and consisting of portraits in a variety of media. We had a chance to meet the conservation team and witness them working on some of the most famous portraits from the collection.
