Our November Soirée at Maison Assouline
On the last day of November we gathered our members at the stunning Maison Assouline for a talk about Jean-Michel Basquiat - the pioneering prodigy of the 1980’s New York art scene. With the first large-scale exhibition of Basquiat's works in the UK happening now at the Barbican, we could not miss an opportunity to explore the outstanding talent and creative influences of this mysterious artist.
Our guest lecturer - Lizzie Perrotte, one of London's most sought-after speakers on modern and contemporary art, took us on an insightful and fun journey through the life and career of the artist and helped us decode some references and symbols in his works.
The following week, accompanied by Lizzie Perrotte, our members enjoyed a tour of 'Basquiat: Boom for Real' exhibition where we fully immersed into the frenetic and explosive world of Basquiat and his contemporaries.
We couldn't finish the Autumn season of ArtSocial on a more exciting note and we look forward to seeing our members in 2018 for a new series of events and experiences!
