Our Patrons visited Otakar Kraus Music School and met some of the children with special needs who are supported by ArtSocial Foundation.
On 7 November 2018 a group of our Patrons visited one of our partner charities - Otakar Kraus Music School for children with special needs. Edison Carolino - the Music Director of the School, explained to us how music therapy works and how his unique Improvisation, Rhythm and Performance technique benefits children with profound autism, Downs’ syndrome and other conditions.
After that we enjoyed a performance by some of the School’s students and had a chance to speak to their parents and teachers in a relaxed atmosphere.
Since Spring 2016 ArtSocial Foundation is funding music therapy for 14 children at Otakar Kraus Music School. The school had a waiting list of children who were not able to access the therapy due to a lack of therapists at the school. Our funding allowed the school to recruit and train a new music therapist who took on 14 children from the waiting list. This year a few more children will be able to start music therapy thanks to the generosity of ArtSocial Patrons and donors.
