Creative Studio in an Orphanage for Children with Special Needs

We are helping to build a creative studio for orphans with special needs.

Polotnyano-Zavodskoy Orphanage in Kaluga Oblast, Russia, is home to 140 children with learning difficulties.

Although the orphanage does excellent work, there were few facilities that would enable the children to express themselves.

Funding from ArtSocial Foundation enabled Here & Now, a Moscow-based charity, to provide a complete refurbishment of the orphanage’s creative studio. This new space will bring fun, joy, creativity and colour into the everyday lives of the children.

There is now a place for the children to enjoy a range of creative pursuits, from pottery and painting to woodworking and textiles – all of which are proven to be of great therapeutic help to children with special needs.
